During my university studies, I worked on student films as a composer and audio editor, but also took part in audiovisual modules which allowed me to learn how to use video hardware and software tools.
In the final year of my undergraduate degree, I directed and edited a short film for a year long module centred around using DSLR cameras, professional lighting, and Adobe Premiere and After Effects to edit the footage. During my postgraduate degree, I worked on a portfolio of audiovisual work for my final submission, which utilised software including VDMX, Final Cut Pro, Bespoke Synth, MaxMSP, and PureData. Some of this work was featured in the annual sonic art festival "Sound" at the LCB Depot in Leicester - a personal highlight of my MA.
These experiences, in addition to my audio expertise, landed me a full time role at a SEN training college in Birmingham. I worked with students helping them to write, produce, and record their music, and then plan and film music videos in the local area. During this time, I started to learn Apple Motion 5, creating Final Cut titles, effects, and transitions, and standalone animations. I had already been using Final Cut Pro at an introductory level, but my ability and experience developed quickly during the 3 years I worked in education full time.
Now, I work with Progress Music Academy and Soundworks Birmingham helping them to film and produce social media content helping them to develop their online presence. You can read more about the performance of these pages since I started my role on the Social Media Content page of my portfolio...
As well as the social media content, I'm the videographer for live events at Progress Music Academy - I've produced student performance videos at their annual LIVE series of events at the Crescent Theatre, which in 2025, was over 100 live performances - Then I edited and delivered 60 finished performance videos to students within two weeks.
